The short version
When you first visit, this site sets nothing except a record of the choice you make in the cookie banner. Analytics cookies load only if you press "Accept analytics cookies". If you press reject, or ignore the banner entirely, no analytics cookie is set at all — not a reduced set, none.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or social media trackers anywhere on this site.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device so it can recognise it later. Similar technologies such as local storage do the same job by different means, and the same rules apply to them. This policy covers both.
1. Strictly necessary — always active
These are required for the site to work or to remember a choice you have made. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations they do not require consent.

2. Security on our forms — Google reCAPTCHA
Our enquiry and review forms use Google reCAPTCHA to stop automated spam. Without it the forms would be unusable within days, so we treat it as necessary for the form to function — but it is a Google service and we would rather tell you plainly than bury it.
reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and browsing behaviour to decide whether you are a person. It is used only on the pages that carry a form — the contact page, the reviews page and the home page. Google's use of that information is covered by the Google privacy policy and terms of service.
If you would prefer not to use it, ring us instead — the phone numbers are on the contact page and nothing is tracked when you do.
3. Analytics — only with your consent
If you accept, we load Google Analytics 4, which tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and roughly where in the country they are. We use it to work out which parts of the site are useful. We do not use it to identify individuals, and IP addresses are anonymised.

These are not set until you press accept. The Google Analytics script is not even downloaded before then.
4. Changing your mind
Use the button at the top of this page to clear your choice — the banner will appear again and you can choose differently.
You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time, and set your browser to block them. Blocking strictly necessary items may stop parts of the site working.
To opt out of Google Analytics across every website, Google publishes a browser add-on.
5. Links to other websites
Where we link to Google, Facebook or anywhere else, those sites set their own cookies and have their own policies. This one covers our site only.
